Music
i want to use this as a space to talk about lots of songs that have had a big impact on me! i love music a lot. i dont think ive gone a day without listening to music at some point for at least 8 years. its not so much an escape for me as it is a method of communication. one of my favourite memories of my dad is sitting together at the kitchen, taking turns playing music to each other. not saying anything other than commenting on the music. and we didnt dance or anything, we just sat there listening. and i treasure these moments so much. i get so excited whenever the situation arises that someone im talking to starts sharing music and i find it might be possible to share music with each other, silently appreciating it.
even though i do see it as communication, i also use it as a method of self exploration. songs make me feel things i forgot how to feel, or dont feel often. i struggle with my emotions a lot [i often feel like i dont experience many] but music helps me feel and understand. i also just love the skill of music creation and have huge respect for a lot of music creators. i love music so much!!
fish whisperer - Vylet Pony
this was the title track from the first vylet pony album that released after i became a fan. i remember being so enthralled by the whole album but this song in particular really stuck with me. it has such a big sound and if i focus entirely on the song while im listening to it, i can cry really easily from just how beautiful it is. vylet is such an amazing musical artist and even though i talk about her music a lot and have tried getting people into her stuff, only one friend has latched on and really understood how stunning her works are, which is pretty sad. but it doesnt stop me from enjoying her work. the entire fish whisperer album was beautiful!
Life Goes On - Agust D
this wasnt originally my favourite song on the album but it grew on me months after its release. i remember listening to it a lot on the way to work [my first real job!], thinking about my relationship with A. parts of the lyrics applies while other parts were the complete opposite of what my relationship with her is like, but there was enough applicable that it moved me. even aside from that, i also see it applicable to bbs in a few ways. it makes me hope that bbs stays together forever. regardless, since its in korean, if i dont focus on the lyrics, i have no idea whats being said, and sometimes i enjoy appreciating it by vibe alone and assigning my own meaning to it. i also physically bought this album! the cd sits in my car :D
